Software Developer Position

We seek software developers to join our team to build products and web services for new business development, as well as support for existing products and customer consulting engagements.

Our openings include both mid and high levels of experience (4-20 years). Seeking independent, determined, innovative, and strong team members who enjoy challenges and projects that serve our broader community (e.g., systems to support public health and education).

Responsibilities include leading projects involving software development and web services, systems development, implementation, network administration, and operations support. Experience in product development, consulting, metadata and database (e.g. Sleepycat) development are considered a plus. Types of development projects: healthcare assessments, case management, search engines, online literature databases, financial services, and bookkeeping systems.

Requires web site development, software design, system administration, and database design skills. Will help to develop information systems strategies and gather systems requirements. The right candidate will be versed in the following technologies: HTML, .NET (C#, ASP, or VB), SQL Server, Unix/Linux/BSD, Windows administration, firewalls, and Javascript. Familiarity with UML, use cases, Oracle, C/C++, Java, Perl, and/or CMM SEI is a plus.

As a member of our team, you will help sell and promote awareness of our team and services. In addition, you will write reports and proposals on teams always supporting customers.

Pay level is commensurate with level of experience. Flexible stock options and company equity are available compensation options. Full time position with full benefits included. Travel is occasionally required.

CIS Club Notes 30Nov-06

We had guest Speaker Lorraine Knight from EMU COB Career Services
Lorraine spoke about Networking and Resume Writing. 27 students attended the workshop.

CIS Club Board meeting
- Board discussed plans for CIS club going forward for winter 2007
- In 2007, club to meet every week at 5:00 pm in 1st level CIS Club room
- Try varying the meeting days to check for more student participation
- Board to work on Club budget
- Need for a CIS club logo
- Work on club publicity - institutionalizing the club and making it an sustainable enterprise
- Get the right people like potential employers, IT consultants, recruiters
- Topics for speakers - their area of specialization or any topic which would benefit cis club attendees, like topics about networking and their learning experience with companies
- Plan for getting speakers every other week during January and February of 2007
- Club officers to participate in Deans leadership council
- Get budget from Deans Leadership Advisory for conducting events

Brainstorming issues for 14th Dec board meeting:
- work on credit giving mechanism - may be optional or extra credit
- work on affiliations to club like honors society, student chapters, acm..

- think of ways to get the undergraduate and graduate CIS students to the club
- board to recognize Student Professor mixer
- club officers to extend invitation to Professors for social gathering
- plan to put up a program

- to collect keys for CIS Club room
- co-ordinate with CIS Professors about optional/extra credits for their students participation in club activites and about announcing club events in classes

Ratna:
- to conduct and collect results for Resume workshop survey - refer www.surveymonkey.com
- to collect the email list from the workshop sign up sheet for sending emails for future events

Kokila:
- review list of companies listed in the first meeting and to send reminding note to members who volunteered for getting guest speakers
