This is a blog about and for the Eastern Michigan University Computer and Information Systems Club (EMU CIS club for short). We're having our first organizing meeting November 9, 2006. Here's what's on the agenda:
- Networking. We need to establish a CIS community, meaning:
- Links between current students and alumni.
- Links between current students and job contacts.
- Just links between current students.
- Figuring out how to get better visibility for our program and our students.
- Establishing a club operating committee.
- Figuring out what other stuff we can do for students.
Some ideas:
- Establish a speakers series. Who should we get? When? Who will do the contacting?
- Finding national clubs we should connect to.
- Entering national competitions.
- Starting a CIS blog network. If you have a professional blog, we'll link to it. You should link to us too.
- Get some people responsible for updating this blog with pictures and multimedia.
